about

A dark night falls. The end is near, but it was always coming. Time rolls on, time is continuous; there is never an end. There is no closure, no meaning and no return. Final words are rare and often meaningless at best. There is never any progress. Nothing ever changes. The end is always the beginning.

The music in this album tries to portray my thoughts and feelings regarding the end of this decade. I believe that the final few years of the 2010's have been dark, and eye opening to say the least. My outlook on current life has been changed as a result of the current political climate, the worsening climate of the planet and the personal experiences I have encountered in these final years of the decade; the music tries to reflect this.

The music is melancholy - probably the most melancholy in my whole discography - which was what I wanted to achieve at the beginning of the project. Although there is sadness, there is also a deep hopefulness for the future, especially in the final two tracks. I feel that I have used the elements and ideas learnt from my previous projects effectively to produce a well rounded and thought provoking piece.

This EP was produced between October and November of 2019, with most of the tracks recorded in the latter month. As a result of this, there are some mistakes and oddities in the music, mainly due to my laziness and ability to talk myself out of fixing issues. But overall, I believe that this has been a successful venture. I hope this doesn't sound too pretentious...
